Fabrication Capabilities

Six process stages under one roof — quote the whole assembly or a single operation

High-Power Fiber Laser Cutting

Fiber laser cutters from 1,500 W to 20,000 W process stainless steel plate up to 8,050 × 2,540 mm with clean edges. Parts are nested from your CAD layouts to maximise material yield.

Bending & V-Grooving

A 130-tonne CNC panel bender (3,200 mm bed) combined with V-grooving delivers sharp, weld-free corners on visible stainless surfaces.

TIG & MIG Welding

Skilled welders join thin sheet and structural profiles alike. Weld seams can be left as neat stack-of-dimes beads or ground flush for a seamless look.

Grinding & Polishing

In-house polishing produces brushed (No.4), mirror (8K) and decorative finishes. Welds are blended before final finishing on cosmetic parts.

Assembly

Hardware insertion, hinge and drawer fitting, sub-assembly and full unit build so parts arrive ready to install or retail.

Surface Finishing

Spray coating is done in our own paint line. PVD titanium gold and colour coating is arranged through vetted partners when part size requires it — declared per order.

Materials & Surface Finishes

Stainless Grades

  • • 304 — general indoor and light-duty use
  • • 316 — higher corrosion resistance for wet and coastal environments
  • • 201 — economical option where conditions allow

Sheet Surfaces

  • • Brushed (No.4 / hairline)
  • • Mirror (8K)
  • • Titanium gold and decorative colour

Applied Finishing

  • • Spray coating — in-house paint line

Two Ways to Work With Us

Draw-to-Print Fabrication

You have the design; we build it. Send 2D or 3D files (DWG, DXF, STEP, IGS or annotated PDF) with quantity and target market. We return an itemised quote, a manufacturability review, and a sample or first article before batch production.

Co-Development (Design-Assist)

You have the function, not the file. Describe the part — photos, sketches, dimensions, how it will be used — and our team drafts the drawing, iterates with you, then fabricates the approved design. Ideal for brands extending a product line into stainless steel.

Order Process

1

Send Drawings or Describe the Idea

2D/3D files (STEP, IGS, DWG, DXF, PDF) — or just a concept sketch and intended use.

2

Engineering Review & Quote

We check manufacturability, suggest adjustments to cut cost or improve strength, and quote with a clear lead time.

3

Sample / First Article

Prototype or first article for your approval before batch production. Feedback loops are included.

4

Production

Laser cutting, bending, welding, grinding and finishing run under in-process quality checks.

5

Inspection & Packing

Dimensional and visual inspection, protective film on cosmetic surfaces, export-safe packing.

6

Shipping

Sea, air or express with documentation support. Mixed fabrication orders can consolidate with our drain products.

Fabrication vs. OEM / ODM

Looking for finished, branded drainage products instead of made-to-order parts? Our OEM / ODM services cover private-label production of our full floor drain range — custom sizes, laser logo engraving and your packaging, with sample turnaround in 7–10 days. Many customers combine both: OEM drains plus custom stainless parts from the same factory and shipment.

Custom Fabrication FAQ

Can you work directly from our drawings?

Yes. Draw-to-print is our standard mode: send 2D or 3D files (DWG, DXF, STEP, IGS or annotated PDF) and we fabricate to your specification. If you only have a concept or a photo, our team can draft a drawing for your confirmation before production.

What is the MOQ for custom fabrication?

MOQ depends on the part: complexity, material, size and finishing. Simple laser-cut parts can start from very low quantities, while welded and painted assemblies are typically quoted per project. Tell us the part and annual volume and we will confirm the tiered MOQ in the quotation.

Which stainless grades and finishes can you supply?

We commonly work with 304 and 316, and 201 where the budget or application allows. Sheet surfaces can be brushed (No.4), mirror (8K) or decorative colour such as titanium gold. Spray coating is done in-house; PVD is arranged through vetted partners when part dimensions require it.

Do you also fabricate in other metals?

Stainless steel is our core. Carbon steel and aluminium parts can be produced case by case — send the drawing and we will confirm feasibility and coating options before quoting.

How long does a fabrication order take?

Sample and first-article timing is usually 1–2 weeks after drawing approval; batch lead time depends on quantity and finishing scope and is fixed in each quotation. We keep lead times realistic rather than promising generic numbers.

What is the difference between this service and your OEM/ODM drain service?

OEM/ODM (see our OEM page) is finished Melody Drain products — floor drains and drainage components — branded and packaged as yours. Custom fabrication is made-to-order sheet metal work in any shape from your own design, of which drainage parts are just one application.
